Research
Visona and co-workers have developed a simplified yet predictive model for the dynamics of magnetic vortex microdiscs embedded in viscoelastic media such as cells or extracellular matrices, now published in Nanoscale Advanced.
This model provides a framework to anticipate the motion of vortex nanoparticles engulfed in cells or embedded in a visco-elastic material when submitted to an oscillating or rotating magnetic field. A key result is that both fields may induce oscillatory motion in stiff or viscous materials.
