Plateforme Technologique Amont (PTA)

The 'Plateforme Technologique Amont' , PTA, is a clean room of class 1000 (ISO6) on the Minatec campus which is the result of the pooling of technical and human resources of IRIG (Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Grenoble) and LTM (CNRS Microelectronics Technologies Laboratory, Université Grenoble Alpes UGA and Grenoble INP, Graduate Schools of Engineering and Management, UGA'). 

The clean room covers 350 m² within the 10.05 building and 350 m² within the BCA-INP building (in the clean room of the CIME, Interuniversity Center of MicroElectronics and nanotechnologies).

The PTA meets the specific needs in terms of technological and technical resources, dedicated to nanosciences in the field of micro-nanotechnologies. It makes it possible to integrate micro and nano-objects or to structure thin films in a range of nanometric dimensions thanks to various methods and tools for lithography, deposition or engraving. The PTA accommodates all types of substrate, from the 5 x 5 mm² sample to the 100 mm substrate as well as all types of materials.

The themes that are developed are numerous:

• micro and nanoelectronics,
• MEMS & NEMS,
• magnetism and spintronics, 
• integration of nano-materials and nano-objects, photonics...  

The platform aims to support researchers in technological developments that are necessary for their research, but also to welcome manufacturers for their R&D projects (testing new technologies, proof of concept,.)

Flexibility, flexibility of access and use, are at the heart of PTA management. This model of pooling resources between major players in upstream research in Grenoble requires the establishment of an original management and administration system for the platform managed by INAC and the LTM. The operating costs of the PTA are covered by the laboratories and industrial users.
