Presentation

The Laboratoire des Technologies de la Microélectronique (LTM) is a joined research unit which was created in 1999 by the CNRS, the Joseph Fourier University and the INP-Grenoble with the main objective of strengthening partnerships with the CEA-LETI in the field of micro and nanotechnologies applied to microelectronic.

The laboratory is located on the CEA-Grenoble site, within CEA-Léti, and today occupies around 500 m2 of clean room in several buildings. This positioning allows LTM staff, an academic laboratory, to carry out applied research in an exceptional environment of a very high international level within a research and development center using a state-of-the-art 300 mm CMOS technological tool in collaboration with major players in the field of microelectronics.

The LTM is also part of the national network of major technology centers. In this capacity, he co-pilots with the CEA-IRIG the Upstream Technological Platform open to the entire academic community, SMEs and large groups. Installed on 700 m2 of clean rooms, the PTA offers a complete range of technological equipment at the best state of the art (optical and electronic lithography, engraving/deposition, metrology, micro and nano-systems) to develop new sectors allowing to integrate nano-objects and nanomaterials. Its key themes are nano-electronics beyond CMOS, spintronics, nano-photonics, molecular electronics, mechanical nano-systems, nanomaterials and the biology interface.

The LTM has been diversifying its areas of research since 2008, anticipating significant societal demand for environmentally friendly technologies and products, in order to meet new technological challenges in the major application areas of the Internet of Things, energy, environment and health. These challenges call on varied skills and expertise whose synergy with microelectronics technologies allows the laboratory to be positioned at the forefront of innovation.
