Green House Detection

Monitoring greenhouse gas emissions from space is one of the major scientific and societal challenges of the 21st century.

NanoCarb is an instrument specialized in the detection of CO2 and CH4, developed by IPAG and ONERA thanks to the European H2020 SCARBO project.

NanoCarb is based on the principle of a compact spectral imager, which will enable a constellation of small satellites to be sent into space for daily monitoring of greenhouse gases.

LTM is developing the technological processes needed to build the interferometric core of the instrument, combining on a single Silicon substrate interferometers differentiated by 50 nm steps, a narrow spectral filter and infrared absorbing materials.
